30 DAY CHALLENGE - DAY 2 - 10 THINGS NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT ME

Some of you might know at least some of these things, and others none, so I hope it will be fun to either remember or to discover.   :)

Alright, so here we go!

1.  My natural hair color is red, like orange red, not fake red. Yup, I'm a red-head.  :)

2. I used to be "allergic" to pink... and blond... but I got over it it.  ;)

3.  As a little girl I sat watching star wars and complained about the visual effects!

I remember grinding my teeth as I could see outlines on all tie fighters and x wings, shadows were too dark, too flat, discolored or too bright, the panels on the snowspeeders were transparent, I could go on and on and on!  I remember it like it was yesterday! Ha ha ha! :)

I've always been a person who has worked with art, design, visual forms of communication - and yes, always been extremely picky little perfectionist - even back then.

4.  I was like the biggest Star Wars fan - ever.  I could, for real, quote all the three original star wars movies from start to end by heart.

Luke Skywalker was hero over all heroes!
No seriously, I could speak my way through the entire dialogue on all the movies... Really.  (I'm sure some of my childhood friends would tear their hair out in desperation thinking about it even today!) Ha ha ha! :) Right guys?

Knowing my way around the galaxy far far away had some benefits later on as I had to deal with rebellious little boys... that suddenly respected me immensely.  It was even better of course when we could sit down around a gaming console and take turns playing all the Star Wars games in the house, and I'd join in of course.

5. I was a volunteer in the army when I was younger, but decided to not take that path, and have always been a tomboy!  ...who loves fashion!  (yes, it is possible.)

6. I love to shoot, (as long as I shoot at cardboard with black and white circles on it mind you,) and I can't wait to pick it back up again one of these days.  I was actually really awesome at it too.

7.  I've played the piano since I was about 7 or 8 years old.  I stopped as I got older unfortunately.  I hope to pick it up again as soon as I have enough space for a piano around here.

8. I didn't know anything anything about knitting 1.5 years ago, and would probably have done a huge ROFL if  anyone even suggested it...

9.  I've always been a gamer - mostly consoles (Oh yeah I owned my own sega mega drive back in the days, played Doom via LAN on the big boys computers, as well as sneak in some time on the Amiga.)

I spent over 100 hours playing FFVIII (on one run though only, yes I did several), making sure to turn every rock in the game.... I think I still remember 90% of all secret locations and tricks that exist in that game.  Epic.

My hero - Squall

10. I named my cats after characters in a console game!   Cloud and Tifa, two of my favorite characters of all time, from the king of classics - Final Fantasy VII.

Cloud on the left & Tifa on the right

...and there you have it.  :)   Anything you knew from before?  I'd love to hear from you guys that remember some of these things.  This really takes me back years and years. Good times.

Now I'm off to see Iron Man 3 at the cinema, ooooohohohoooo how I'm looking forward to it!  Love the previous movies.

Have you seen it yet?

Have a great weekend guys and gals!

  1. The challenge sounded so dull, but then I read your facts and really enjoyed them all! Had no idea you liked SW so much!! (You should see my last fact...haha!) - and the army - at first I thought - "What?" and then thinking about it, it actually makes sense! Besides I think Joan has taught the world that redheads rule! ;)

    1. Ha ha ha, awesome!
Yeah, I was like a total hard core SW geek, like for real. :P
Your last fact like the total opposite of me! Ha ha! So it's the husband that is feeling the force? :P
I did kinda leave SW behind as I grew older, which was probably a good thing, but it's still fun to think about, and the movies still have a special place in my geeky little heart. :)

Everybody says that about the army thing, that it makes sense, Ha ha ha! why is that? lol

      (And yes, Red Heads rule!)
