KNITTING PATTERN - THE SOFT & FLUFFY SUMMER SWEATER

Several of you asked me for the pattern I used for the lovely summer sweater I made, so I thought I'd put it here for you guys.

It's a really simple sweater, but it's also really lovely.  Quick to make, and wonderful to wear - doesn't get much better then that.

MATERIALS AND PREPARATIONS

SIZE:

S - M - L - XL - XXL - XXXL 


MEASUREMENTS:
Hem: 92-98-104-114-126-138 cm / 36 1/4"-38½"-41"-45"-49½"-54 1/4"
Full length: 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm / 25½''-26 3/8''-27 1/8''-28''-28¾''-29½'' 


MATERIALS:
DROPS VERDI from Garnstudio 350 g for all sizes, color no 06, light pink / beige - find it //HERE


NEEDLES:
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.
Double pointed needles and circular needle size 6 mm / US 10 (80 cm / 32'') - or size needed to get 14 sts x 16 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm / 4'' x 4''.


INCREASE TIP:
Inc 1 st from RS by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st. On next row P YO twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front) to avoid holes.

PATTERN AND INSTRUCTIONS

BACK PIECE:
Worked back and forth on circular needle.

Cast on 66-70-74-82-90-98 sts (includes 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 6 mm / US 10 with Verdi.
Work 6 rows in Garter st - See explanation above. Then work in stockinette st. REMEMBER THE GAUGE!
When piece measures 4-5-5-8-12-24 cm / 1½"-2"-2"-3 1/8"-4 3/4"-9½", inc 1 st in each side - READ INCREASE TIP. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING.

Repeat the inc in each side every 4½-5-5½-8-12-24 cm / 1½"-2"-2 1/4"-3 1/8"-4 3/4"-9½" a total of 13-12-11-8-5-2 times.
When all inc are done there are 92-94-96-98-100-102 sts on needle.
NOTE: When piece measures 48-50-51-52-53-55 cm / 19"-19 3/4"-20"-20½"-21"-21 5/8", insert a marker in each side to mark where armhole starts. Continue with inc in each side as before.

When piece measures 63-65-67-69-71-73 cm / 24¾''-25½''-26 3/8''-27 1/8''-28''-28¾'', continue in garter st until finished measurements - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row in garter st, bind off the middle 26-26-28-28-30-30 sts for neck.
Now finish each part separately.

Bind off 2 sts on beg on next row from neck = 31-32-32-33-33-34 sts remain on the shoulder.
Bind off when piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm / 25½''-26 3/8''-27 1/8''-28''-28¾''-29½''.


FRONT PIECE:
Work as on back piece until piece measures 57-59-61-63-65-67 cm / 22½''-23¼''-24''-24¾''-25½''-26 3/8''.
Now bind off the middle 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately.
Bind off at the beg of every row from neck as follows: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time = 31-32-32-33-33-34 sts remain on shoulder.
When piece measures 63-65-67-69-71-73 cm / 24¾''-25½''-26 3/8''-27 1/8''-28''-28¾'', continue in garter st until finished measurements.
Bind off when piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm / 25½''-26 3/8''-27 1/8''-28''-28¾''-29½''.


SLEEVE:
Worked back and forth on circular needle.
Cast on 34-36-38-38-40-40 sts (includes 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 6 mm / US 10 with Verdi.
Work 6 rows in garter st, then work in stockinette st. When piece measures 5-5-5-5-5-4 cm / 2"-2"-2"-2"-2"-1½", inc 1 st in each side.
Repeat inc every 5½-5½-5½-5-5-4½ cm / 2 1/4" -2 1/4"–2 1/4"-2"-2"-1 3/4" a total of 7-7-7-8-8-9 times = 48-50-52-54-56-58 sts.
Loosely bind off when piece measures 45 cm / 17 3/4'' in all sizes.
Knit another sleeve the same way.


ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams. Sew side seams up to marker. Sew sleeves tog inside 1 edge st and sew sleeves in.


NECKLINE:
Knit up approx. 72 to 80 sts around the neck on double pointed needles size 6 mm / US 10.
Work in the round as follows: * K 1 round, P 1 round *, repeat from *-* for approx. 2 cm / 3/4'', loosely bind off all sts.
